SMCPS Goes Social

St. Mary's County Public Schools are now on Twitter and Facebook, drawing the school system into the realm of social media.  Follow @SMCPS_MD on Twitter for official tweets from St. Mary's County Public Schools, and join them on FaceBook.

A press release dated 7/27/2010 states:

In an ongoing effort to improve communication with the community, St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS) has established a Twitter account.

“I am delighted to implement the use of this communications vehicle to disseminate information
to parents/guardians, students, and staff,” said Dr. Michael J. Martirano, superintendent of schools.  “The use of Twitter advances our efforts to keep the community informed.”

Sign up to follow SMCPS on Twitter at http://twitter.com/smcps_md to receive official school system updates.  Stay on top of all the great things taking place in the school system.  Please note that Twitter will not be used for notifying the public of changes in the school system’s operating status.  Instead, please refer to the school system’s website at www.smcps.org for this purpose.
